Home education is a legal and practical educational choice exercised by thousands of families in the UK and worldwide, including many single parent families.

 The SPHE group allows parents a place to:

• discuss all issues specific to single parents who are educating their children outside of school or who are considering home education as an option.

• arrange and/or join get-togethers and activities, find local support and attend national home education camps and get-togethers as part of a group.

• find the support, friendship and information you need when your children are your full time companions.

We also welcome parents who are about to become/considering becoming single parents for whatever reason and can share experiences of the financial, emotional and practical implications of home educating children as a lone parent. 

Membership of the SPHE group is by invitation only in order to protect members' privacy. If you would like to join us please write to sphe-owner@yahoogroups.com with an introduction. It would help if you could tell us about any links you already have to the home educating community, for example, any other lists, organisations or local groups you are a member of, or if you already know another list member. If you are new to HE, let us know which area of the country you live in, and we will do our best to find you a local contact. We look forward to getting to know you on list.
